The High Altitude Pi Reaching Outer Stratosphere (HAPROS) mission is a project by Mr. Thomsen's Linux class at Tooele County School District’s Community Learning Center.
THE GOAL:
We're sending a payload to near space, and we're going to track it using a tiny computer called a Raspberry Pi running a lean but amazingly powerful operating system called Linux.
HAPROS constitutes a cumulative project-based activity for the course, which focuses on the deployment and management of Linux-based computer systems. The HAPROS Mission represents the ultimate test of practical integration of Linux in a dynamic, high-stakes context. Students will design and build a payload to be delivered to near-space via High Altitude Balloon (HAB) and returned via parachute.
Stay tuned for updates as we approach launch date!
